WHAT IS VASTU?

     Vastu is an ancient science which has its origin in “ATHARV VEDA”. It is a study of effect of basic 5 elements.These elements are :

      Fire, Earth, Space/Metal, Water, Air.

     These elements are present everywhere around us in different form and composition. Different arrangement of different elements in various zone can give different effect as per VASTU.

WHAT IS PUJA ROOM?

      In our home, we maintain a place of worship. In this place we keep idols of Deity and pray and seek blessings from God.This is Puja Room.Arrangement of different objects in this place as well as it’s position can give huge effect as per Vastu.

WHAT IS ACTUAL PURPOSE OF PUJA ROOM?

      Puja room is the place where we try to get aligned with our inner self.We all individuals are part of the Cosmic Almighty. So, when we worship God, we actually try to connect with God and get ourselves aligned with Him.The purpose is to establish the link between the Cosmic macrocosm and the individual microcosm.

IMPACT ON VASTU DUE TO DIFFERENT POSITION OF PUJA ROOM

      As per Vastu, different zones are suggested to create Puja Room. Certain zones are prohibited to place Puja Room.

      Favourable zones 

      Following zones are assumed to give best effect if a Puja room is placed in these areas as per Vastu Shastra:

     NORTH, NORTH OF NORTH EAST, EAST OF NORTH EAST, NORTH EAST

       Above zones signify mental clarity,health,fun etc. So, keeping Puja room in these areas helps to generate and radiate positive vibes in the house.

     WEST

      West is the area of gain and profit.So, if this zone is balanced and and a Puja room is constructed here, positive energy gets circulated in the house and inhabitants enjoy gainful experiences in life.

     Appropriate colour scheme 

     While placing Puja room in the above-mentioned area, following colours should be used in wall paint as well as in structural arrangements.

Unfavourable zones

As per Vastu, there are certain zones where it is prohibited to keep Puja room :

South West

      As per Vastu Shastra, South West is ideal zone to keep photo of deceased ancestors. So, it is not advisable to construct Puja room here.

South of South west

      As per Vastu Shastra, South of South west is the zone of disposal.This is the place to keep disposable and unwanted things. So, if Puja room is placed in this zone, no positive outcome is going to generate from prayer and worship.

      So, as you can see, we should avoid placing Puja room in these zones.

Dos

• Always keep Puja room clean and tidy.

• Face towards North or East while performing worship.

• Follow the directionwise colour scheme.

Don’ts

• Don’t keep more than one idol/photo of same Deity in the Puja place.

• Don’t keep photo(s) of deceased ancestors in the Puja room.
